Make your next great vacation escape to the Black Walnut Inn. A short drive up the mountain from historic Milford, PA, green pastures, majestic oak and maple forests, and our 3-acre spring-fed lake await your arrival. The Inn itself, a stone, Tudor-style manor house, blends old and new with charm, warmth, and a welcoming atmosphere – great for couples looking to rekindle romance or families looking for a fun-filled vacation. Our guests quickly become friends, returning often to this true home away from home.

The Black Walnut Inn, as well as the surrounding town and countryside, provide a delightful mix of rustic and rural, reminiscent of a bygone era. After a day exploring the region’s famous waterfalls, museums and antique shops, come back and relax – enjoy the peace, serenity and breathtaking scenery of our 160-acre estate. The back deck faces the lake where you can relax, paddle a boat, fish, or watch deer, bald eagles or the occasional black bear.

Not only do we welcome well-behaved pets in our cabin – horses are also welcome! You can trailer yours in, and ride with us for the weekend. We offer horseback riding for all levels. Whether you’re a seasoned cowpoke or you’ve never put on a pair of cowboy boots, thousands of acres of woodland trails assure a ride you will not soon forget.

The Black Walnut Inn hosts small intimate weddings to grand elegant affairs. Whether you are interested in an event, a weekend getaway, or a fabulous Western experience, this is the place for you.

A warm, inviting, friendly alternative to commercial hotels, the Black Walnut Inn has a family-style ambience, where well-behaved children are always made to feel welcome. There are many beautiful locations on the property to have a picnic, and many trails on which to hike or take a nature walk.
